What runs on the twinGuest-reported faults, door hardware records, sign maintenance
Hotel operators and the engineering and front-of-house teams who log the faults guests report. This is a twin we built and keep, not an account we hold. Assets are tagged to real elements in the twin, so a record lives on the geometry it belongs to. Each holds make, model, install date, warranty and the notes left by whoever attended, and a work order raised from the card stays attached to that element.
A sign flickers, so somebody books a relamp. The lamp goes in, the flicker comes back a fortnight later, and the second visit costs more than the first because nobody wrote down that the first one had not worked.
Guest-facing faults are worse, because they arrive as complaints rather than as reports. "The door in 412 slams" is one sentence about a closer, a hinge and a reader, and which of the three it is depends on what was done to that door last.

Somebody types that the exterior sign is flickering and asks for a work order. The copilot flies to the sign on the front elevation and reads what is on it: the lamp was last replaced in March 2023 and is past its rated life, but the flicker pattern points at the driver rather than the lamp. The work order goes to Northline Signs, who installed it, as WO-2026-0412.
Door 412 on the asset register. Guest room door 412, Assa Abloy VingCard.

Door 412 opened from the twin. The card reader is intermittently rejecting valid keys and the auto-closer is slamming, which is what the guest actually complained about. The history underneath is the useful part: closer tension adjusted, hinge lubricated after a housekeeping squeak report, peephole replaced, reader firmware updated.
Asking in plain words:
Describe the fault the way a guest described it and the twin finds the element.
Raising it where it belongs:
The work order sits on the sign, so the next person to open it reads this one.
Calling the right contractor first:
The installer and the warranty are on the record before anyone dials.
Bring the files you already have. We will show you the twin you keep for the life of the building.
